CLEBURNE -- In less than one hour a jury sentenced Mark Anthony Soliz, 30, to death.
He was found guilty earlier this month of killing two people during an eight day crime spree through Tarrant and Johnson Counties. It took the jury 10 minutes to come to find him guilty of capital murder for robbing and shooting 61-year-old Nancy Weatherly in June 2010.
The jury also heard about Soliz shooting Ruben Martinez, 28, outside a convenience store.
Soliz s crimes crossed two county lines so prosecutors for joined together to try the case.
This is the first time in 16 years that a death penalty case has been tried in Johnson County.
