FRISCO, Texas -- A woman was struck by a shoplifting suspect who tried to drive off in the parking lot of the Stonebriar Centre late Friday afternoon.
Police taped off an area in the parking lot of the mall, where a black SUV and a silver Nissan Maxima appeared to have collided together.
The incident shortly after 4 p.m. The suspect, identified as Cassandra Timmons, of Dallas, attempted to leave the JCPenney's parking lot, according to Frisco police. She hit a 61-year-old woman and at least one vehicle.
An officer called to the scene saw what was happening, and that's when a police chase began. Police say Timmons eventually stopped south of Legacy Drive and was taken into custody.
The woman was sent to Texas Health Resources Hospital in Plano. Her condition is unknown at this time.
