Frisco ISD school employee injured in small fire

An employee was shocked and the school evacuated after a small fire at the Scoggins Middle School.

MCKINNEY — An employee was shocked and the school evacuated after a small fire at Scoggins Middle School in Firsco ISD Wednesday morning in McKinney.

In a note sent to parents, Principal Barbara Warner said the fire was sparked in the school's cafeteria when a custodian was cleaning equipment at about 9:40 a.m.

The custodian was transported to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries.

"We know you will keep them in your thoughts and your concern is appreciated," Warner said.

Students returned to the building at 11 a.m.

No students were injured.
