FORNEY, Texas — The City of Forney is relocating its city hall and offices from its current location in Downtown Forney at 101 E Main St.
The change is happening alongside new residential, industrial and retail development to account for the city's growing population.
The new office spaces are moving a half mile away to 401 Pinson Rd. The building will serve as the new city hall and house city management, the city secretary's office, fire administration, human resources, legal and information technology.
The old city hall will accommodate the offices for community development, engineering and communications. The council chambers in Downtown Forney will continue hosting city council meetings, planning and zoning commission meetings and other related gatherings.
Forney Public Works Department, at 402 N Bois D Arc St., will be the new location for the utility billing, finance and public works offices. Forney residents can pay their water bills in person at this location.
The relocation of all offices is expected to be completed by August 2024.
