DALLAS — The City of Dallas' online services, including the city and police department websites, will be offline overnight on Wednesday as the city upgrades its main network.

Starting at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, city services including GIS, 311 Services, phone communications, building services, websites and all external and internal internet traffic will be unavailable until 5 a.m. on Thursday, the city says.

However, 911 centers will still come into the 911 center as usual, the city added, and runs will be dispatched through the radio system. But the 311 call system will be dormant during this period.

The Dallas Police Online Reporting system will not be accedible during the planned maintenance, the Dallas Police Department said.

"Residents can report non-emergencies when the site comes back online, or can call 911 to report the non-emergency," DPD said in a statement. "An expeditor will call the resident back and take the report over the phone in the order received."

DPD made it mandatory to file some non-emergency complaints online in June in order to free up more officers to respond to urgent calls. The public was advised to report incidents like graffiti, criminal mischief and identity theft online at dallaspolice.net.
