DALLAS There is new information about a the death of a young woman who was found dead in her burning car last year.
Dallas Fire-Rescue says the Elizabeth Lightfoot case remains open, and that the final cause of the November 4 fire in the 16000 block of Preston Road remains undetermined.
Investigators said they are unable to prove with any certainty what started the fire that killed the 22-year-old woman because of lack of evidence.
Lightfoot's death was originally thought to be a case of murder, but was later classified as an accident, a finding that infuriated some who knew her.
A medical examiner's report released in December concluded that Lightfoot died from smoke inhalation, but had a blood alcohol level of nearly 0.36, more than four times the legal limit.
