ROYSE CITY — A new wave of undocumented children could arrive in North Texas as early as today.
They'll be staying at The Sabine Creek Ranch, located in Rockwall County, and are arriving just in time for Christmas.
Somewhere between 200 and 300 children are expected to arrive at the Sabine Creek Ranch in Royse City. There are already about 500 children who are being housed at the The Lakeview Camp and Retreat Center near Waxahachie. About 200 more will come in over the weekend, bringing the total to 700.
Officials are working to reunite them with relatives already here in the U.S. until they can get hearings before an immigration court. But until then, the staff at both camps are working to keep them safe and busy.
The Lakeview Camp is asking for donations of arts and craft supplies to help prepare for a holiday celebration. Items can be dropped off Friday and Saturday at the Life Church in Midlothian, located at 620 U.S. Highway 67.
Here's what they need:
- Post-it notes
- Yarn
- Construction paper
- Child scissors
- Crayola washable markers
Here are some items the camp has requested for gifts. These items will be accepted until Monday:
- Baseball caps
- Stadium blankets

- Canon XL 9" X 12" Top Wire Recycled Sketch Pad, 100 sheets
