DALLAS — American Airlines and the Federal Aviation Administration are clearing up reports of a plane making an emergency landing after taking off from DFW Airport on Wednesday.
American flight AA345 took off from Dallas at 7:35 p.m. CDT, according to the airline. It was scheduled to land at LAX Airport in California at about 9 p.m. PDT.
The airline first told ABC News that the pilots had reported a "mechanical issue" before landing, but the plane still landed normally and passengers deplaned safely.
American later said the pilots got a warning about low pressure for one of the tires.
In a statement from FAA to ABC, they said one of the Boeing 777 jet's tires blew out during takeoff from North Texas.
The administration also confirmed that the flight did land safely in Los Angeles at about 8:45 p.m. PDT.
The incident is now under investigation, according to the FAA.
This is one of the latest flight concerns with ties to Boeing since a panel on one of its plane blew out mid-flight in January.
