FORT WORTH, Texas — Billy Bob’s Texas, a more than 40-year-old famous honkytonk in Fort Worth, has gotten some renovations to make it easier to see shows throughout the venue and improve sound quality.
Two poles were removed from the center of the venue’s showroom, with support added to the remaining poles via an out-of-sight truss, in hopes of improving the view of the stage for concertgoers.
“Understanding the importance of an unobstructed view, Billy Bob’s Texas has meticulously redesigned seating arrangements and sightline angles to guarantee that more of the seating options offer an optimal view of the stage,” a press release added.
The soundboard was also relocated to help maximize sound projection and clarity.
"We are thrilled to unveil these exciting renovations, which represent a significant investment in enhancing the overall guest experience at Billy Bob’s," said Amanda Banda, Billy Bob’s Texas Marketing Director. "Our goal is to create an environment where every guest feels fully immersed in the magic of live music, and these enhancements bring us one step closer to realizing that vision.”
It's not the first time Billy Bob's has given view-obstructing poles the boot. In 2022, they removed two poles from near the stage that had long been a complaint of guests sitting close to the music - but with a blocked view.
Billy Bob’s, which has hosted almost every major act in country music, including George Strait, Garth Brooks and George Jones, opened in the area of the Fort Worth Stockyards in 1981. Now it hosts more than 300 live concerts each year, bull riding, and is home to a 4-star restaurant and retail store.
