North Texas apartments damaged after afternoon fire

According to the Bedford Fire Department, the fire spread to four units, but no residents were hurt.

BEDFORD, Texas — Multiple apartments are damaged after an attic fire spread to four units and damaged multiple others.

Bedford firefighters responded to a fire at the Morgan Apartments Monday, June 10 around 3 p.m. According to fire officials, the fire engulfed two apartments, burning through the roof. 

Bedford FD says four units were heavily damaged and suffered total roof loss. Four additional units were damaged by smoke.

The Bedford Fire Department says no residents were injured in the fire, but two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion.

According to Bedford Fire Chief Bill Walker, 16 people were displaced by the fire. Sadly, three pets passed away.

Bedford Firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire at The Morgan Apartments today at 3:06 p.m. Upon arrival, the fire was fully involved in two apartments and the attic area, and quickly went through the roof. Thankfully, no residents were hurt during the incident, although two firefighters had to be treated for heat exhaustion on-scene. This is still an active fire with crews on scene completing fire extinguishment and overhaul. Four units sustained heavy damage and complete roof loss while four additional apartments suffered heavy smoke damage. Please avoid the area, if possible. Haltom City Fire Department is on-scene to provide building stabilization so that crew can complete their overhaul work in the damaged units.
