AZLE, Texas — A woman died after she was hit by a truck while attempting to cross a road Tuesday morning, the Azle Police Department said.
According to police, officers responded to the 500 block of Boyd Road around 6:41 a.m. to the report of an auto-pedestrian accident.
Police said a preliminary investigation revealed that a man driving a Ford F-150 was merging onto Boyd Road from Northeast Parkway when he hit the woman, who was crossing the road.
According to police, the woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.
Police said the driver remained on the scene and cooperated throughout the investigation. The Azle Police Department does not expect any charges to be filed against the driver.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will release the name of the woman after next of kin is notified.
