Kevin Kidd, 18, Jermon Simmons, 24, and Emmanuel Kilpatrick, 30, were arrested March 20. Police say they shot and killed Irby Walton, Sr. and Irby Walton, Jr.

DALLAS -- An arrest has been made in the murder of a father and son.

Kevin Kidd, 18, Jermon Simmons, 24, and Emmanuel Kilpatrick, 30, were arrested March 20. Police say they shot and killed Irby Walton, Sr. and Irby Walton, Jr.

According to Dallas police, officers were called to the 3100 block of Simpson Stuart, at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday where Walton Sr., 69, and Walton Jr., 41, were discovered.

Robbery appeared to be a likely motive. Irby Walton, Jr.'s 2004 tan-colored Lincoln Towncar with TX license HNW-6058 was stolen as well.

The Walton family was heartbroken to learn of the murders.

"Just hardworking people, it's sad," Michael Walton, Irby Walton, Sr.'s son said.

Walton says his older brother, Irby, was one of six siblings in an extended family that works hard and is close. He says they want justice, but their feelings are rooted in faith and love, not anger and revenge toward whoever is responsible.

Police say the suspects admitted to the murders, and have been booked into the Dallas County Jail on capital murder charges. Each has a $500,000 bond.
