ARLINGTON, Texas — A man was pronounced dead in Arlington Saturday evening after his motorcycle crashed into a sedan, police say.

According to a news release, police were dispatched to Matlock and East Bardin Road at about 6:45 p.m.

When they arrived to the scene, they said they found a 65-year-old man unresponsive in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the man was going north on Matlock while the sedan was turning left from southbound Matlock onto Bardin. The motorcyclist then collided with the sedan, causing him to be ejected from his vehicle.

According to police, the victim was not wearing a helmet at the time.

Based on evidence and witness statements, it's believed that the biker had a green light when the crash happened. However, he may have been traveling at a high speed.

The sedan driver was not injured and stayed at the scene with police. The driver is not facing criminal charges.

The victim will be identified once his loved ones has been notified.

No other information is available.
