ANNA, Texas — A Collin County court clerk was identified as the victim who died in a crash involving six vehicles that shut down U.S. 75 in Anna on Monday, officials said.
Collin County officials on Tuesday posted about the death of Katrina Shelby, a lead clerk in the Collin County District Clerk's office, and police also confirmed that Shelby died in the crash in Anna.
County officials said Shelby worked in the clerk's office for nearly eight years.
"Our thoughts and condolences go out to her family, friends, and colleagues," officials said in an update on social media. "We’re providing support as we navigate this loss together."
The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. Monday on northbound U.S. 75 near Rosamond Parkway, according to the Anna Police Department. Police were diverting traffic off 75 to Rosamond Parkway, and officials were asking drivers to find alternate routes through the area.
One person died in the crash, and two people were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment, police said. Four others involved in the crash declined medical treatment at the scene.
"Our thoughts are with the families of those affected by this tragic accident. We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and hope for the speedy recovery of those injured," Anna PD said in a news release.
More information about how the crash happened was not immediately available.
All main lanes of the highway and the shoulder were blocked by the crash, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
The highway was reopened by 6 p.m. The investigation into the incident was still ongoing.
