Fort Worth man dies after rollover crash on Sam Rayburn Tollway, officials say

According to Texas DPS, the man's vehicle struck a second vehicle before eventually hitting a sign and rolling over.

ALLEN, Texas — A man has died after a car wreck that led to him being ejected from his vehicle on Saturday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Officials said the accident happened at about 6 p.m. on the Sam Rayburn Tollway near Custer Road in the Allen area. DPS identified the victim as 54-year-old Scott Thomas Brittain from Fort Worth.

Based on a preliminary investigation, officials said Brittain was driving south on Sam Rayburn when his vehicle started veering to the left side of the roadway. 

Brittain's vehicle then struck another vehicle before driving into the median, striking a signpost, rolling over, and ejecting Brittain from the driver's seat. Officials said he died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle that was crashed into was not hurt.

Officials are continuing to investigate this accident. No other information is available at this time.
