ALEDO, Texas — A $100 million private golf course is coming to a new development of homes in the Aledo area.
The Kelly Ranch Golf Club is scheduled to be finished by spring of 2025 near U.S. 377 and Kelly Road, about 20 minutes southwest of Fort Worth.
Fort Worth-based Escalante Golf, which owns and operates more than 20 courses across the country, is heading up the project, which was announced Dec. 4.
Escalante has hired golf course architect Tripp Davis to design the 240-acre, 18-hole course that will be "staggered throughout rugged rolling hills with 200-foot elevation changes, reminiscent of the Texas Hill Country," their press release said.
"Framed by unique stands of Live Oaks and indigenous Cedar Elm trees, and playing over and around creeks running through the naturalized terrain, the course will preserve the land’s existing wildlife, water, and environment," the release said.
The course will be located in the 2,400-acre Kelly Ranch development, which is currently under construction along U.S. 377. The development will have 2,500 custom homes, ranging from $700,000 up to $10 million, across three gated communities. A "high-end shopping and dining destination" is also planned for the development, along with commercial development with office space and medical facilities.
The golf club will have different levels of membership, including resident memberships for people who live in the development.
The course will play up to 7,600 yards with five different sets of tees. The greens, which will average around 6,000 square feet, will be TifEagle Bermuda grass. The club will also feature a 400-yard driving range as part of a 26-acre golf practice facility.
“Kelly Ranch Golf Club’s key differentiator is that it is being designed for the golf purist; it will be a golf-only environment free of distractions often found at traditional country clubs,” Jeff Kindred, EVP of Clubs & Resorts at Escalante Golf, said in the release.
