FRISCO, Texas — North Texas is one of the top regions for sports in the country. But barring some major climatic changes, some sports are just impossible to do in Dallas-Fort Worth (here’s looking at you snow skiing).
Until now.
“We have a lot of sports, if not all sports, under one roof,” said Subhi Gharbieh, co-founder of Active Arena in Frisco.
Active Arena is a new, fully immersive sports venue. Gharbieh says there’s never been anything like this. Thanks to technology, guests can experience just about any sport – basketball, baseball, shooting sports, indoor sports or outdoor sports.
Using augmented reality, they can paraglide through Europe or ski down snowy mountains. Those kinds of experiences are often reserved for people who have the time, and money, to travel and enjoy them.
Gharbieh says now it’s possible to do all of that and much more without leaving North Texas.
“Our tagline is ‘making sports accessible for all,’” Gharbieh said.
