AZLE, Texas — Fire crews with the Briar-Reno Fire Department were reportedly able to rescue a 55-year-old man from a house fire on Saturday, July 6.
According to the department, around 8:56 a.m., crews responded to the report of a porch fire in the 14000 block of Briar Road in Azle, Texas.
Upon arrival, the department says crews found heavy fire coming from the home, along with a 55-year-old man unconscious inside.
According to the department, crews were able to perform a rapid rescue and get the man out. However, he suffered second-degree burns to about 50% of his body. The victim was flown to Parkland hospital, the department said in a press release.
The department says the following agencies also responded to assist in the rescue:

- Tarrant County Fire Marshal's Office

Briar-Reno Fire Department says the fire is under investigation by the Briar-Reno and Tarrant County Fire Marshal's Office.
