DALLAS — A 19-year-old woman was killed on President George Bush Turnpike early Sunday after being struck by a car, Texas Department of Public Safety officials say.
The victim, Jasmine Lewis from Arlington, had crashed her 2004 Honda Accord in the southbound lanes in a single-vehicle crash and the car became disabled, officials say. The driver reportedly exited the vehicle, when a 2014 BMW X3 struck the Honda and Lewis.
Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in Lewis' car, 18-year-old King Martin from Grand Prairie, suffered minor injuries. The driver of the BMW, 28-year-old Kiara Frazier from Grand Prairie, suffered minor injuries, as did her passenger, 33-year-old Devvyn Eddington from Longview.
The investigation is ongoing.
