17-year-old motorcyclist killed in North Texas crash, police say

The motorcyclist, identified as Charles Brumit, 17, of Joshua, was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police say.

ROYSE CITY, Texas — A motorcyclist was killed after hitting a barrier in the eastbound lanes of I-30 at the exit to FM 2642 in Royse City shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday.

The motorcyclist, identified as Charles Brumit, 17, of Joshua, was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police say.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, but police say it appears a large group of motorcycles were traveling together on I-30 were taking the exit to FM 2642 when Brumit’s motorcycle hit the barrier, and Brumit was ejected, according to police.
