WEATHERFORD -- A driver was killed when his or her vehicle drifted into the on-coming lane of State Highway 171 on Tuesday and was hit head-on by a semi-truck.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred on SH 171 south of Doyle Road Tuesday afternoon. It is unclear why the driver in the passenger vehicle drifted into the northbound lane.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was taken to Weatherford Regional Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Neither driver has been identified.
State Highway 171 was reduced to one lane while the crash was investigated.
