ARLINGTON, Texas — A Sunday afternoon college graduation party in Arlington turned deadly when one man shot and killed another man after an altercation, Arlington police say.

Police think that at some point during the party, 44-year old Hector Salazar got into an argument with an unidentified 63-year old man. Salazar shot and killed the man and then ran away. He was taken into custody without incident and will be charged with murder after being booked into the Arlington Jail.

Police arrived at the back yard of the house in the 5000 block of Nocona Lane in south Arlington around 5:54 p.m. to find the 63-year old man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is declining to identify the body until the next of kin is notified.
