DALLAS -- More than two dozen samples have been sent to the CDC from Dallas medical facilities to test for Enterovirus 68.
Zach Thompson with Dallas County Health and Human Services tells News 8 that the 35 samples were sent last week. Enterovirus cannot be tested locally, therefore it has to be sent to the CDC.
Thompson says the samples were sent as a precaution, but some are suspected to test positive.
No reports of Enterovirus have been recorded in Dallas County as of yet. The respiratory virus has hospitalized children in 12 states.
It is unclear whether other counties in North Texas are testing for the virus.
