The Grand Prairie school board has appointed an interim superintendent in the wake of Susan Hull's death.
Linda Ellis is currently the deputy superintendent of teaching and learning for Grand Prairie Independent School District.
She will fill the top role in the district until the school board replaces Hull, who was killed in a motorcycle crash while on vacation in Arizona.
"We believe Ms. Ellis will preserve Dr. Hull's vision while providing a continuity of leadership in all phases of the district,” said Board of Trustees President Burke Hall in a written statement.
A timeline has not been set for the formal search to hire a superintendent, school officials said.
