Fans pay premium prices for Dallas Cowboys tickets

"This is not anywhere near a cheap ticket," said Gerald Kern, a personal concierge who runs Elite Concierge and Luxury Transportation in Arlington.

With a win over the Seahawks Saturday night, a group that never lost faith were rewarded.

“It’s just reminiscent of what the Cowboys are all about. It’s like we’re reborn again – one little step – get to the super bowl, that’s what we’re trying to do,” Larry Pointer, a long time Cowboys fan.

Cowboy’s fans don’t have a lot of experience with post season football – at least not in the last two decades. “We got gas under two dollars and the Cowboys in the playoffs again, it’s almost like the 90’s again,” said Gerald Kern, a personal concierge who runs Elite Concierge and Luxury Transportation in Arlington.

All those memories are going to prompt fans to pay up big to catch the game in person in Los Angeles next week. “This is not anywhere near a cheap ticket,” Kern said.

Kern puts together packages, and he’s telling his clients to be prepared to pay up at least $5,000 to get to the game and back. “This is something that you’re going to be telling your kids about for the rest of your life. There is no luggage rack on the Hurst,” Kern said.

While he deals with big spenders, he does offer advice for those hoping to catch a last minute deal. He advises fans stay away from cash deals like those found on craigslist.org.

“No, I would not do anything that requires you to pay cash. You’re setting yourself up for so many things that could go wrong.” he said.

For added security, Gerald recommends you pay with a credit card. He also suggest also stick with the big name venders, ticket master and stub hub just to name a few. “At this level of the game, if you haven’t heard of them, this is not the time to gamble,” Kern said.

And those high prices keep climbing by mid afternoon, the cheapest nose bleed seat we could find was still several hundred dollars. “I don’t jump ship, I’m a faithful. I was born and raised a Cowboys fan, my mom and day were fans,” Pointer said.

Despite a high price tag, experts say expect plenty cowboys stars in L.A. – all waiting to see if what was once a long shot pays off.
