DALLAS — Grapevine native rapper and singer/songwriter Post Malone will make his Grand Ole Opry debut shortly before the release of his country album “F-1 Trillion.”
Brad Paisley, who’s been a Grand Ole Opry member since 2001 and collaborated with Post Malone on the song “Goes Without Saying,” extended the invite.
“What I’m about to ask is going to mean a lot to you, I think, knowing you and knowing the respect that you have for country music and this journey you’re embarking on now as a hillbilly singer, which is going to be massive and remarkable and amazing for both country music and, I think, you. Would you like to play the Opry?” Paisley asked. “It’s going to be the first of many appearances, I have a feeling, from you.”
Post had previously performed a cover of Paisley's song "I'm Gonna Miss Her" during Matthew McConaughey's We're Texas Benefit during the COVID-19 pandemic, and performed the song together at Stagecoach.
Post's Grand Ole Opry debut Aug. 14 will also feature performances by fellow Opry members Lainey Wilson and Vince Gill, John Michael Montgomery, The War and Treaty, and more. Tickets for Post’s Grand Ole Opry debut are on sale now.
Post Malone released the full tracklist for “F-1 Trillion” Thursday, which also features a duet with Wilson called “Nosedive.”
The 18-track album also features collaborations with country stars Tim McGraw, Hank Wiliams Jr., Morgan Wallen, Dolly Parton, Blake Shelton, Jelly Roll, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton and more.
Post has already released singles from the album, including his collaboration with Wallen, "I Had Some Help," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for weeks.
“F-1 Trillion” will be released Aug. 16.
