Dollar Days at the Dallas Zoo are almost here and tickets are on sale now

Tickets for the wildly popular $1 admission days must be purchased online in advance.

DALLAS — Dollar Days at the Dallas Zoo are almost here and tickets are available now.

The wildly popular deal in which the zoo drops its admission price to $1 for anyone 3 and older returns July 18 and August 6. Admission is always free for ages 2 and under. Tickets are available online now. Dollar Days tickets need to be purchased online in advance.

Dollar Days runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but from July 8 until August 8 the zoo’s summer hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Dollar Days, presented by Whataburger, will also feature deals on snacks and drinks at pop-up shops throughout the zoo.

Snack discounts at shops in ZooNorth and Wilds of Africa include:

  • $1 popcorn
  • $1 cotton candy
  • $2 Twin Pops popsicles
  • $2 ice cream cups
  • $2 rainbow sherbert
  • $2 bags of Lays chips
  • $3 canned drinks

Each year, the Dallas Zoo holds Dollar Days to show appreciation for the community’s support by offering lower admission costs and special deals throughout the park,” the Zoo said in a press release. “Dollar Days make the zoo accessible to all and provide an affordable experience the entire family can enjoy.”

While at the zoo, guests can get tickets to Destination: Dinosaurs or the virtual reality experience Wild Explorer. Guests also can enjoy the Endangered Species Carousel, bird feedings in Travis and Zach’s Birds Landing, rides on the Conservation Railway mini-train, and giraffe feedings at the Diane and Hal Brierley Giraffe Ridge.

Whataburger will also be on site with themed cooling towels, fans and more.

“Whataburger prides itself on extraordinary hospitality and meaningful connections in our communities, and we are thrilled to be able to support the Dallas Zoo's Dollar Days. Inviting families to join us at the Zoo is a way for us to invest in the communities we serve through our Whataburger Feeding Student Success program, where we focus on supporting students at all stages of their education to achieve their goals and dreams,” said Whataburger brand leader, Mike Miller.

The zoo has added new misting fans throughout the zoo and water stations are available.

Parking at the zoo remains $12 and the zoo recommends visitors take the DART Red Line straight to the zoo’s entrance.
