Since his hiring to a 3-year, $300,000 contract in the spring of 2012, Mike Miles has been a lightning rod for controversy.
In his news conference announcing his resignation Tuesday morning, he attributed the turmoil to resistance to reforms he's enacted as DISD's superintendent.
But the ire that Miles has drawn has stemmed from a number of serious missteps, including violations of school district policies and procedures, questionable hires, budget shenanigans and attempts to stymie internal investigations.
