ROWLETT, Texas — Rowlett High School has a new, first-of-its-kind for Garland ISD “reset room” on campus for students.
Carmen Chadwick, RHS’s multi-tiered support systems facilitator, has been working to give students a neutral space to defuse situations, promote healing, and bring restorative practices to the campus.
In response to her request for assistance through social media, Preston Hollow Church donated time and resources to outfit the classroom allocated for the “reset" room with furniture. Videos shared by volunteers show the new space has a living room, desk area, and patio.
School officials and the church say they hope the room will be able to make an immediate impact on students when they return from break on Monday.
