FERRIS, Texas — An employee with Ferris ISD has been fired following allegations of inappropriate communication with a student, the district said Wednesday.
Ferris ISD officials say an investigation was launched immediately after learning about possible inappropriate communication between an employee and a student. In a statement to WFAA, the district said the employee was fired after an internal investigation found wrongdoing.
Ferris ISD didn't disclose the name of the employee or the position they held within the district.

“In an effort to keep you informed, please know on November 20, 2024, Ferris Independent School District was made aware of possible inappropriate communication between an employee and student. We began an immediate investigation and were able to substantiate that inappropriate communication took place. Upon confirmation of the inappropriate communication, the employee was terminated and we reported our findings to the proper authorities and to the Texas Education Agency.”
