ALVORD, Texas — A portion of Alvord, Texas, is under a boil water notice, according to a post made on the city's Facebook.
In a statement, the city said the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required Alvord to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption. The City of Alvord stated that all water used for washing hands and face, brushing teeth and drinking.
According to the City of Alvord, the boil water notice stems from a water leak from a fire hydrant off Lynch Drive. That leak brought pressure down for nearby residents. The city emphasized the notice is not an issue of contamination, just low pressure.
A spokesperson for the city told WFAA 175 residents are impacted.
