GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — A man died at a hospital after drowning at Joe Pool Lake Saturday in Grand Prairie, according to the Grand Prairie Fire Department.
Multiple people called in to the fire department around 2:53 p.m. after spotting a man swimming near the beach area who wasn't coming up for air, officials said.
When Grand Prairie Fire Department divers found the man, he had been underwater for about 30 minutes and was not wearing a life jacket. He was taken to Medical City Arlington in critical condition, officials said.
He later died at the hospital.
The man is not being identified at this time.
