DALLAS — DART Police arrested 27-year-old Anthony Davis and charged him with aggravated assault Saturday in connection with a February 11 incident at Morrell Station in Oak Cliff where Davis is accused of hitting a man from behind and causing him to fall onto the tracks and get trapped beneath a DART train.
Dallas Fire-Rescue crews had to use the Jaws of Life to lift the rail car high enough to get the injured man off the tracks.
The victim was taken to Methodist Charlton Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries to his lower body, and he remains there for treatment.
Some witnesses who were at the scene said the incident started with an argument between Davis and the victim. Surveillance cameras at the station weren't working on the day in question, DART officials told WFAA last week.
Repairs are being made to the cameras, and a DART spokesman said the agency used other video sources like rail vehicle cameras to help them in the case.
Davis is currently in the Dallas County Jail with a bond set at $50,500, records show.
