Investigators said the pickup truck driver ran a red light at high speed just before the vehicles collided

The ambulance was responding to a call with lights and sirens at 3:15 a.m. when the collision occurred at the intersection of West Davis Street and North Westmoreland Road.

The driver of the pick-up truck and both medics inside the ambulance were taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The pick-up truck driver, 28 year-old Luis Cabrera, died from his injuries. The driver of the ambulance was expected to be released from the hospital after treatment of his injuries.
