DALLAS -- A Dallas personal injury attorney arrested for the killing of his former law partner's ex-wife last year has been indicted on a murder charge, according to the Dallas County District Attorney's office.
A grand jury indicted 39-year old Scott Matthew Marshall last week in the December shooting of Stacy Michelle Montgomery, 25, in Addison. Marshall remains in the Dallas County Jail, where his bail in the murder case is set at $500,000.
Marshall is also being held on multiple felony drug charges. Bail in those cases brings the total amount to $701,500, according to jail records.
A bond hearing is set for today. Marshall's attorney, Gary D. Unell, said that the current bail is excessive and that he is hoping to get it reduced.
Marshall has declined requests for an interview.
