An 18-year-old man has been arrested by Wylie police after he reportedly hit someone with a car after an argument, putting the victim in intensive care, police said.
Police charged the suspect, Mahey Mohammed, with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to a police news release.
At about 9:45 p.m. Sunday, police were called about the victim being struck by a vehicle in the area of Ray Hubbard Way and Richland Chambers Court.
Upon arrival, police say they saw the 25-year-old victim with major injuries from being hit by a car. They learned during the investigation that Mohammed had reportedly struck the victim on purpose with a white Dodge Charger, according to the release.
Officers soon found Mohammed as he was driving to his home, police say, and he reportedly admitted to driving the vehicle that struck the victim.
Mohammed was subsequently arrested and charged, police say.
The victim is in the intensive care unit of a local hospital with multiple broken bones as of Monday afternoon, according to police. The incident is still under investigation.
