Woman receiving medical attention after barricade situation, allegedly firing shots at Fort Worth firefighters, police say

The incident happened at a home on Brea Canyon Road in West Fort Worth.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A woman was barricaded inside a Fort Worth home after allegedly firing shots at Fort Worth Fire Department personnel, according to a spokesperson with Fort Worth PD.

The incident happened at a home on Brea Canyon Road in West Fort Worth, police say. According to FWPD, a woman in her 70s called emergency services saying that she fell.

Police say when first responders tried to enter the home, the woman called again saying she would shoot anyone who tried to enter. FWPD officers, FWFD personnel, and MedStar personnel tried to enter the house and heard what sounded like a gunshot from inside, according to FWPD.

Police say they withdrew and formed a perimeter around the home. According to a FWPD spokesperson, the older woman has barricaded herself inside the home. Several Fort Worth officers responded to the scene, including a SWAT unit.

A FWPD spokesperson told WFAA the stand-off has ended and the woman is receiving medical attention.

WFAA has a reporter on the scene. This is a developing story. We will update this article as we gather more information.
