GARLAND, Texas — A 30-year-old woman has been identified as the victim of a shooting in Garland over the weekend, police said Tuesday.
Gema Rostran, of Garland, died in the shooting, which also left two more people injured.
Sergio Nicolas Jaramillo Jr., 23, was identified as the suspect in the shooting, according to a police news release. Police said he turned himself in on Tuesday morning.
Police said a fight in a business parking lot shortly after midnight Sunday in the 2600 block of West Walnut Street, near the intersection of North Shiloh Road, led to the shooting.
At some point in the incident, police said they believe Jaramillo fired a gun, shooting three people, including Rostran.
The other two victims are expected to survive, police said.
Jaramillo faces charges of murder and two counts of aggravated assault with serious bodily injury.
Records show Jaramillo was in the Garland jail Tuesday No bond has been set yet.
