Fort Worth police have arrested a man and a woman in the murder of Ashlea Harris, who was found dead in a burned apartment Nov. 28.
Clarence David Mallory, 19, was taken into custody Friday by members of the North Texas Fugitive Task Force based in Amarillo. Carter Carol Cervantez, 25, was taken into custody by Tarrant County Sheriffs on Saturday. Police "developed probable cause" to make the arrests, according to a release.
Update: A correction was made to information released by Fort Worth Police. FWPD originally listed Cervantez as 15, but later released a correction stating that she is 25 years old.
Mallory was taken to Fort Worth after speaking with detectives. Both were placed on $500,000 bond.
Harris was found dead in her apartment at the River Ranch Apartments on the 4700 block of King Ranch Road on Nov. 28. The apartment had been burned, with a sprinkler system potentially containing the flames and preserving evidence.
Detectives investigated the case as capital murder.
Mallory and Cervantez were each arrested in connection to a theft from an American Eagle Store in Fort Worth in late August. Each saw an additional charge of theft between $1,500 and $20,000 in the murder arrests.
