Three people shot and killed at Arlington apartment complex, police say

The victims have not yet been identified and no suspects have been arrested.

ARLINGTON, Texas — Three people were shot and killed at an Arlington apartment complex Thursday evening, and a suspect was still wanted Friday morning, police said.

Police said officers were called about shooting reports at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday to the complex in the 3500 block of Chatham Green Lane, off Arbrook Boulevard and Matlock Road.

When officers arrived, they found a 29-year-old man on the ground near an apartment and saw that the apartment door had been forced open. The officers went inside, police said, and found two more victims, a 31-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman.

All three victims died. Two small children who were also in the apartment were not hurt, police said.

Witnesses had reported seeing a man run away from the scene. Police described the man as about five feet six inches tall and wearing all black. No arrests have made in the case.

The victims' names have not been released.

Police said they learned the two victims found inside the apartment were dating and lived at the apartment with the woman's children. The man found outside the apartment "appears to be an acquaintance who was visiting the apartment," police said in a release.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police detective VanTreeck at 817-459-5691. Tipsters can also submit information anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at 817-469-8477.

A neighbor, Loqman Mohamed, told WFAA that he and his family were watching a movie when they heard three "pop" noises but they initially did not think they were gunshots.
