21 guns seized after 4 Ennis teens are arrested, accused of burglary, police say

The Corsicana Police Department says it seized 21 firearms from multiple locations. Four teens are accused of stealing guns and other contraband.

CORSICANA, Texas — Corsicana Police arrested four teenagers involved in the burglary of Brinson Powersports in Corsicana Monday, the department announced in a press release. 

The arrest led police to seize 21 firearms but four remain missing, police said. 

All four suspects, ages 15, 14, 14 and 14, live in the Ennis area and were transported to the Ellis County Juvenile Detention Facility Monday, according to the Corsicana Police Department. Police did not release the identity of the suspects. 

The investigation started when Corsianca police were notified of a burglary in progress around 2:14 a.m. Monday, June 3 at the Brinson Powersports at 1931 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, police said. A witness told police they saw three subjects break a glass door with a large hammer and then run from the building with armloads of weapons, police said. 

Responding officers recovered 9 firearms at the scene, police said. 

Along with the 21 firearms, police recovered multiple stolen driver's licenses, social security cards, counterfeit currency and various narcotics, police said, Officers also recovered a vehicle reported as stolen in Ennis. 

The items were seized from locations in Corsicana, Bardwell, Ellis County and Ennis, police said. 

"This was an extremely intense investigation by the responding CPD patrol shift, as well as members from the CPD Criminal Investigations Division," Robert Johnson, Corsicana chief of police said in a statement. "Several civilian members of our community stepped up to assist with information, which allowed us to quickly recover most of the weapons." 

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are likely, according to Corsicana Chief of Police Robert Johnson. Anyone with information about the missing firearms should contact Detective Sean Frasier at 903-654-4916.
