Detectives in Fort Worth hope surveillance video can help lead them to a suspect in the murder of a teen early Sunday.
Investigators say the victim was shot to death in the driveway of his home, police said.
Officials at the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Demarian Jones, 17. A ruling on his death is pending.
Courtney Allen lives across the street from Jones and told News 8 she heard a series of gunshots just before 2:00 a.m. Sunday in the 3400 block of Stonewall Lane.
"So i looked out the window and I was like 'oh my gosh' and I just broke down crying," Allen said.
Allen says she knew Jones for the last several months living in the south Fort Worth neighborhood.
"I felt this good vibe around 'D-Mo', we talked about everything for the most part."
Demarion Geiger told WFAA he was with Jones in the moments leading up to the shooting but had left his house as a suspect he says dressed in all black walked up to the teen in his driveway.
"I see a dude shooting and I'm thinking he's shooting in the air, but I hear gunshots so I'm trying to get to safety," Geiger said. "I'm hurt bad, I feel awful."
