FORT WORTH, Texas — A Tarrant County jury has found a man guilty of two counts of arson and sentenced him to serve 50 years in prison.

The man, 33-year-old Riynaldo Gray, was found guilty of arson of a habitation and arson of a vehicle, according to a post by the Fort Worth Fire Department on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The fire department responded to a residential fire and a vehicle fire in October and November 2020, respectively, officials said. Arson investigators were requested to determine the fires' cause and origin, and it was determined they were intentionally set at the base of a woman's apartment door.

Gray was found as the suspect in the case and two felony cases were filed with the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office, officials said.

Police later learned Gray had paid another man to set the fire, officials said. Gray was also accused of visiting the woman's home at other times, as well as taking credit cards out in her name and damaging her property.
