An Arlington officer's motorcycle was pictured mangled on the side of Interstate 30 after it was struck by an SUV during a traffic stop.
The officer was standing not far from his motorcycle when an SUV veered onto the shoulder and struck the bike, said Chief Will Johnson in a tweet Wednesday morning.
The officer was taken to a hospital but is expected to be OK.
Johnson said the driver of the SUV was arrested on a DWI charge.
"Totally preventable crime," he wrote.
