DALLAS — A young man who was skateboarding in the Lake Highlands neighborhood of Dallas is now in the hospital after a truck hit him and ran, according to the Dallas Police Department.

DPD says that skateboarder was in the 10200 block of Audelia Road at about 2 a.m. on Aug. 11, when a black Dodge Ram 1500 truck hit him. The skateboarder was seriously injured in the crash, police say.

According to police, the truck kept driving north on Audelia, passing Royal Lane, and then making a U-turn to drive eastbound on Royal Lane toward LBJ Freeway/635. Police say the driver then made another U-turn at a gas station to head west on Royal Lane towards Audelia Road.

Police are investigating the hit and run and looking for that black Ram truck. Police say the truck has damage on the passenger-side headlight, fender and grill.
