SEAGOVILLE -- Police in Seagoville have arrested a theft suspect who led them on a chase and fired shots hours after their initial run-in with the suspect.

A 911 call came in about a suspicious vehicle that may have been involved in a theft at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of E. Farmers Rd. Police quickly found the suspect's vehicle and a short chase ensued.

At some point during the chase, the suspect fired multiple gunshot at pursuing officers. No officers were injured.

The chase ended near Beckett and Simonds Roads after the suspect crashed his vehicle at the intersection of Bowers Road and W. Simonds Road. The man took off on foot and police lost him in a heavily-wooded area.

The Dallas Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff's Office, and DPS helped with the hunt, which was difficult due to thick brush in the search area, and the suspect remained at large.

Some time later, officers received a tip that the suspect may have been taken to a nearby mobile home park on South Beltline Road in Dallas by an unsuspecting individual. Officers followed the tip and found a man matching the suspect description in one of the homes in the park.

The suspect, who police have not identified, was taken into custody without incident. Police say he will face a list of charges including aggravated assault of a public servant, evading arrest, and theft of property.
