DALLAS -- Dallas police are searching for a female driver they say deliberately ran over a woman in an Uptown Dallas parking lot.

It started when two women were fighting in the parking lot of the Quadrangle Uptown at Routh and Howell at about 2 a.m. Wednesday. The area is one block away from McKinney Avenue, known for its bars and late-night restaurants.

One of the women got into a red Hyundai Sonata and ran the other woman over, said police. The victim is hospitalized in serious condition.

According to police, the driver then took off, crashing into an SUV on McKinney Avenue at Worthington. The SUV was working as an Uber. Of the five people inside, two were hurt. They were treated at the scene and are expected to be okay.

The suspect drove off, but didn't get much more than a block away before she hit a tree at Allen and McKinney. She then got out of the car and took off running, said police. There was clear damage to the front of the vehicle.

Investigators believe it's just a matter of time before they find the driver. If you have any information, call Dallas police.
