Police arrest California man accused of cornering, sexually assaulting North Texas clothing store employee

The alleged assault happened Sunday at a business near SH-183 and Esters Road in Irving.

IRVING, Texas — A California man accused of sexually assaulting a female clothing store employee in Irving has been arrested, according to police.

The Irving Police Department said Thursday that Patrick Francis Hoversten, of Sonoma, Calif., was arrested on Nov. 13 in Tyler, Texas. 

Hoversten had been identified as the suspect seen on video entering a clothing store along State Highway 183 and Esters Road on Sunday and reportedly forcing a female employee into a backroom and sexually assaulting her.

Hoversten was in the Smith County Jail awaiting transfer to the Irving Jail, according to police.

"We would like to thank the community and the Tyler Police Department for the assistance getting Hoversten in custody," Irving police said in a statement.
