LEWISVILLE, Texas — Lewisville High School has resumed normal operations after going on lockdown Thursday morning over a report of an armed person near the school, officials say.

No weapon was found, Lewisville High School Principal Jim Baker said in a letter to parents, and police believe the reports came from outside of Lewisville.

"I am extremely proud of the way our staff and students responded to this incident," Baker wrote. "Everyone did exactly as they are trained to do in this type of situation."

Families who want to pick up their students from the school can still do so by parking near the stadium and picking them up through the auditorium.

Baker also said the LISD CARE TEAM, specially trained counselors, would be on campus to support students and staff.

The investigation into the reports is ongoing.
