PLANO, Texas — A 33-year-old Plano man is in custody after his mother was found dead in her apartment on Thursday, police said.
Officers were called at about noon to the 300 block of Dogwood Place in response to a report of a dead person, police said. Upon arrival, they found the victim, 54-year-old Rene Timmons, and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Injuries to the victim and evidence inside the apartment showed signs of foul play, police said.
According to police, Timmons' son Robert Lee Timmons was later identified as a suspect and arrested in connection with the death.
The ongoing investigation is being handled by the crimes against persons unit.
